'THE LOST AIRAVATA'
Airavata - ''The elephant of the clouds' has lost his way. He can no longer bind the clouds for Indra - the rain god to kickstart the monsoons on time. But can we really blame the Gods for unpredictable weather patterns? Didn't we create shortage of everything they gave us in abundance? Didn't we destroy everything for our own selfish motives? And now that we can't help ourselves we expect the gods to help us. Can they? Hey bhagwan..how?
'THE MONSOON FESTIVAL'
Monsoon Festival foregrounds fashion for the monsoon/inspired by the monsoon. This year the designers explore “Paradoxial Views of the Monsoon in Contemporary India.” The classical romance of the monsoon with antithetical contemporary narratives of the season such as issues revolving climate change and the love-hate relationship that the cities share with the monsoon.

Cinderella's cross-over to the dark side was conceived in-house. Inspired by Quentin Tarantino, we scratched our souls for violent tendencies and a splintered sanity. The children''s fairytale was reinvented as a noir thriller with photographer Tarun Khiwal, stylist Gautam Kalra and our creative clones who rewrote the story and illustrated the darker side of the beauty, calling her Sin-O-Rella. Riding a Kawasaki Vulcan and sporting Christian Dior, she changed from a virtuous victim to a hard-boiled assassin with attitude. The photo shoots and illustrations were combined to present a mould-breaking fashion feature in ELLE magazine. (December 2008 issue).

| WE HAD A BLAST! |
Play Clan along with Ai, The Love Hotel and Alliance Francaise organized AI LOVE DELHI last week. For all those who coudn't attend, here is what happened.
Play Clan did a video installation and exhibited a special collection on Delhi.
Alliance Francaise got 2 French artists who did graffiti art and DJ Dezer who played all night long.
Ai hosted the event.
Everyone ate, danced, drank and shopped and showed how much they loved Delhi by just being there.

The clones exhibited CLANVIRONMENT at Red Earth''s Monsoon Festival. Here are a few photos from the event. The clones spent a week of sleepless nights seeing green everywhere to put the installation together for the event. Now that the event is over, they are still seeing green and want to take the collection to the store ASAP. For all those who are wondering what clanvironment is, here is a what it means.
CLANVIRONMENT IS A CONCEPT BY THE CLONES OF PLAY CLAN TO SAVE THE PLANET. THEY BELIEVE THAT IF EVERYONE TAKES SOME SIMPLE STEPS, IT CAN LEAD TO A CLEAN AND GREEN ENVIRONMENT. THE CLONES HAVE TAKEN GLOBAL WARMING AS A GLOBAL WARNING AND HAVE JOINED HANDS TO PROTECT AND SAVE MOTHER EARTH, WHO THEY SO MADLY LOVE.

| Thank god for small mercies...In the consumerist supernova of Select Citywalk, I spotted a faintly twinkling, but a star nevertheless.

An indie store of sorts, very unassuming and definitely something. It's a bit of a hunt, hidden in one corner of the mall, in the alley, just after Punk and the Candy store...out of reach of shopaholics and fierce aunties.
Best if you have a go at it and discover what you like about it, but here's the stuff you shouldn't miss-
Hand painted All Stars (verrry cool)
Cool graphic tees (on the lines of people tree and 1469)
Really nice art/ graphic prints (I already have some on my walls)
Cushions (with graphic prints if you are into more than traditional Indian embroidery)
